Look....Santa!!!!

For some reason, Michaela absolutely loves Santa, Even though we have never talked about him before. My friend Angie, who is an aerobics instructor at Good Life, volunteered to be our Santa, and she did an amazing job!

For those of you who haven't heard this story, I was privileged to be there the first time Michaela showed her interest in Santa. She and I were sitting on a bench in a mall, waiting for Mommy and Daddy to finish bottling some wine. I hadn't realized it until we sat down, but we were right in front of the place where Santa was waiting for children to come to him. When Michaela saw another child sit on Santa's knee, she looked at me and asked "Hug?" I said sure, so as soon as she had given me the candies she had been holding in her hands, she ran right up to Santa (there were no children with him at the time), climbed on his knee, and threw her arms around his neck - all by herself, on her own initiative, and without any prompting from anyone. I was flabbergasted, because I had no idea why she did that! It was a really special and inexplicable moment! I took a picture of her as soon as I could get my camera ready, but it had all happened so fast that I missed capturing that first spontaneous heart-felt bear hug that she gave him. What a wonderful memory! Love, Grandma
