Michaela's Oliver Twist Impression

Actually, she's trying very hard to hold still as I try to take a photo without the flash. If she or I move even slightly, the picture will be blurry. Still my brother Josh insists that the flash is to be avoided like the plague. I'm still uncertain..... Michaela moves so much that almost all of my pictures are blurry.

I have to agree with Josh about the flash! I avoid it as much as absolutely possible! Pictures turn out so much better! No shiny faces, no distorted colors, and NO red eye!
That's my two cents on the topic!

But - couple of things:

You'll need more light. Turn on the lights and open the curtains.

For indoors, you might want to manually turn down the exposure by a couple of notches as your camera will try to make the picture brighter than it is.

And, for indoors you will want to change the manual settings to ISO400 to shorten the exposure time. The camera's auto settings won't do this well.

(for all this you'll need the manual... sorry!)

Good luck and not bad for a first attempt!

Hi Cara,

Your camera has a great setting (the sports setting). It automatically adjusts the exposure (really well) to always take a clear picture. try it out.

What an incredibly beautiful portrait of our incredibly beautiful little Sweetheart! I think it's one of my very favourite pictures of Michaela!
